Q. How do I know what size space to reserve for my rental?  What does full or partial hook ups mean?

Our travel trailers (Rpods) are Hood River Editions and have a 4 inch lift.  These units are best for going slightly off the beaten path. All of our Rpods, excluding the 2011 Solar Unit, are 20 ft. in length with an 18 ft box.  The Solar Unit is 18 ft with a 16ft box and is small enough for the popular Pagosa and Four Corners Blues N Grass Folk Festivals.

  • Full hook ups include: water, electric, and sewer
  • Partial hook ups include: electric
  • IMPORTANT:  The travel trailers are powered by batteries and depending on the unit, solar.  They only provide 12 v for running the lights, fan for the furnace, and fan in the bathroom.  You will not have 110 outlet power to run the outlets, the microwave, nor the air conditioner.  YOU WILL NEED 1 GENERATOR to run outlets and microwave in the travel trailers. YOU WILL NEED 2 GENERATORS to run the air conditioners in the travel trailers and will need to be reserved at least 2 weeks prior to your rental departure. The RV MOTORHOMES have onboard generators. One hour of generator time is provided, free of charge, on the motorhomes per day.

Q. How much does it cost for a campsite?

Campsites vary anywhere from $20-$45/night depending on where you are camping. BLM land is free and spectacular areas to be off the grid in the Moab region.  OUR FAVORITE APP is Campendium and provides great insights on areas to camp as you drive along!

Q. Do you offer deliveries?  How much does it cost?

We do offer deliveries on our Motorhomes and travel trailers within a 30 min. radius of Durango for a $75 cost which includes drop off, set up, and pick up.  For areas further than this radius, please call and ask us for costs and details. 970-426-1720

Q. Do I need to purchase insurance?

We have full comp and collision on all our units.  FOR TRAVEL TRAILERS: We need your current proof of insurance and drivers license. Please call us with your Insurance Carrier's name, Agent name, phone number and policy number so we have it on file.  Please call your insurance carrier at least 2 weeks prior to departure to make sure you are covered with personal liability while pulling our travel trailer.  Most carriers cover but best to call and check.  FOR MOTORHOMES: You will need what is called an "Endorsement." We have full comp and collision on our Motorhomes but we need an endorsement for your liability.  This can take upto 2 weeks with some companies so it is best to take care of this early.  You will need specific information such as VIN number, year and make of the model, and we will need to be listed as additional insured.  Please call if you have any further questions.  Additionally, if you are unable to get an Endorsement, you will have the option to purchase insurance through our company. It runs ~$20/day.

Q. How does dry camping work? Do I need a generator?

Dry camping refers to what we call "being off the grid."  The batteries only run minimum items such as lights, fan for the furnace, and bathroom fan.  If you want electricity to run the outlets, microwave, or air conditioners, you will need 1-2 generators.  Please request when you book your rental as we have a limited number of generators. Generators run off of gasoline and will also recharge the batteries on the travel trailer. Each unit has different gray water and black water holding tank capacities but will generally last 2-3 days depending on use.

Q. How long do the batteries last?

Batteries length depend on how much power you use in the unit you have rented.  Generally will last 2-3 days again, depending on use. Batteries, and solar, provide 12 V to power the RV and run ONLY the lights, fan for the furnace, and bathroom fan.  Batteries can be recharged with solar power, a generator, and even a 7 way plug when you pull the travel trailers.

Q. Do the batteries power the outlets so I can use my phone and computer?

No, you will ONLY have 110 outlet power if you have electrical hook ups or use a generator.

Q. How long does the water last?  Can we drink the water in the unit?

Generally, water last 2-3 days depending on use.  Travel trailers hold 36 gallons of water, RV Motorhomes hold 35-50 gallons of water. We recommend bringing your own drinking water as we cannot guarantee where the last renter filled up.

Q. How do I know what size space to reserve at a campsite?

Our travel trailers are 17 - 21 feet depending on which unit you rent.  If you aren't comfortable backing in a travel trailer, inquire about a pull through to accommodate your needs.  Our RV Motorhomes range 24 - 30 ft depending on the unit you are renting.  Please call if you have any questions about camping in general. Our units run off of 30 AMP - we do supply adapters to go to a 15 amp service.
